28th Infantry Division

28th Infantry DivisionPriorService is proud to offer a large selection of items for the 28th Infantry Division. The 28th “Keystone” Division has a long and proud history. The division was formed in 1879 and them redesignated the 28th Infantry Division in 1917 as it prepared for service in France during World War I. The division fought in several key battles during World War I and would return to France again for World War II. The division was put ashore in Normandy on June 22th and saw combat in France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. The division fought in several key battles in World War II including the Battle of Normandy, Battle of the Huertgen Forest, Battle of the Bulge and more. After World War II the division returned to the states and served as part of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. The division has recently seen many deployments, sending troops to Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. The division has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and is the first National Guard unit to be field the Styker Infantry Fighting Vehicle.
